The art show is one of the biggest events happening in Mary Ward every year. It is time when all of our artists show their skills and talents through their work of art. All the effort and hard work students put in throughout the year have paid off, because it shows in the art show.
Like every year, the art show this year was amazing. The moment I walked into the art show I was really amazed of all the great pieces of art made by the students. The entire basement was transformed! I could not believe how they were able to do that, the amount of work needed to do that is really astonishing. I really liked the movies made by the grade eleven and twelves. I really enjoyed their movies and I thought they were very creative. There were many wonderful pieces of art this year.

Excuse Me While I Answer My Phone
If I were to ask someone ten years ago what a cellphone was used for, he or she would say it is a very convenient way to communicate with other people around the world. If I were to ask someone today what a cellphone was used for, he or she would say it is very convenient way to communicate with other people around the world, listen to music, take pictures and videos, surf the internet, play games, and many more. And it is for these reasons why people are so close to their cellphones. For many people, cellphones are a part of their everyday lives because they are so useful and convenient. However, we need to keep in mind our manners when using cellphones. One time I was using my cellphone in school to call my mom and tell her to pick me up at school and the vice principal saw me using my cell phone and she came over and told me that I should not be using my cellphone at school and that she will confiscate it next time she sees me using it. I was kind of mad that she would not let me use my cellphone to call my mom during lunch, but I guess that was an improper was of using my cellphone. There should be time and place for using cellphones.
5 rules that I think are necessary to follow when using cell phones:
1. Put your cellphone on silent or turn it off when going to places like in the movies, church, restaurants, school, etc.
2. Do not use your phone while driving, it will put your life and other people's lives in danger.
3. Be polite and excuse yourself when you need to use your cellphone.
4. Do not use your cellphone while in class.
5. Do not talk so loud when using your cellphone because it might bother other people.

"Everything's Amazing but Nobody's Happy"
I do agree with Louis C.K about his views on technology. Despite all the technology around us, we are still not satisfied. Technology advances at such a fast rate to keep up with our never ending demands. Every year there are constantly new inventions being made by people to make human life faster and easier. Whenever technology fails us, like when our iPod is not working properly or when our computer lags, we get disappointed or angry that it is not working properly not keeping in mind that these things were not even invented during our parents time.
One day, I was researching on Global Warming on the internet for my history essay and my dad said that during his time, they had to go to the library and read all these books to do their research. It would take them hours just to get the information they needed, but now, we have this thing called "google" and BOOM... research done. I do not agree completely with Louis C.K because I myself, however, am happy with all the technology around me. I am satisfied with the advances made by technology and I am very happy about it.

Gaming Gone Wild
What is it about these games that steals away so much time from our youth? Easy, some of these games are so addicting that you just can't stop playing them. Xbox, PS2, Wii, PS3, there are always new systems and games that are coming out.
I play video games myself and I can tell that time really passes by when your playing. Next thing you know, 5 hours of your life just passed by. I don't know why, but its just so BEEP-ing good! That Brandon guy who died becuase he ran away over an Xbox is just a sad way of dying. I like video games, but even I wouldn't run away over an Xbox, well maybe a ps3...I knew that video games aren't good for you, but I did not know it could kill you!
I think that there should be a limit on video games. Video game players should take their a**es off the couch once and a while and GET A LIFE! I mean... do other things like playing sports, spending time with friends, get better marks at sch-yea right. We have to remember that a video game is a want, not a need. Playing video games is fun, but too much is not good for you. A7X ftw

The Campaign Trail
The Buddweiser video was clever way of informing the public of how the world will "change" if Obama was elected to be president. The first video showed the guys having a Bud while talking to each other, they seem to be having fun. There were no problems whatsoever, just living a normal life. Eight years later, the same guys were struggling with the issues president Bush was unable to solve: unemployment, health care, war, natural disasters, and many more. Not so "WASSAP!" anymore. One of the guys was in Iraq, fighting in the war. Another guy needed pain killers for his broken arm, but the healthcare system could not supply him with any. The message of this commercial is that Barack Obama will give us change, not only for America but for the rest of the world. He wants to solve all of the issues happening right now and help make a better world to live in. A7X ftw.
